Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Fire department was busy this afternoon with two calls .

First, they responded to a call to All Mobile Pet Veterinary Hospital on Ospika.

The alarm indicated fire and it turned out to be a small electrical fire.   All the animals had to be removed from the clinic until the all clear was given. One eye witness says there was a string of animals, some on   i-v’s,  others donning those protective “cones”, waiting  at the rear of the neighbouring building for the O.K.
No one, of two or four legged variety, was hurt, and damage is minor.

No sooner had that situation been brought under control when there was word of a propane leak at Costco.

The large propane refuelling tank the source of the problem. As a precaution, the store was cleared out.  That situation was brought under control and it is shopping as usual at Costco.

Propane tanks are very dangerous at these temperatures if they are over filled like they can be most of the year in these parts.
Someone should check their reporting. I was at Costco and the store was not cleared out. If you were parked in the vivinity of the propane tank, you couldn't leave until the leak was stopped. It took about 30 mins.
I was at Costco to enter the store and was not allowed to enter even the parking lot. I was informed by staff and the fire Department that no one was being allowed into the store.
The main exit to the store is located not far from the leaking propane tank and there were no people heading either in to shop or out into the parking lot to the west of the store. An Employee of Costco who was directing traffic from the lot said we are ,"trying" to clear the store.
was it a leak or did the safty let go to release excess pressure. If so the best you could do is cool the tank
