Prince George, B.C. – An employee of Yellowhead Road and Bridge suffered burns to his arms this morning after taking a zap from a 25 thousand volt power line near Westgate.
The worker was placing a large sign on the east side of Highway 16 when the sign is said to have shifted, striking one of the power lines.
The jolt left the worker with burns to his arms. He was taken to hospital and is expected to survive. The zap knocked out power to the area, electricity is expected to be restored shortly.
WorkSafe B.C. is on the scene investigating the incident.

Just wait and see what bc work safe will tell them the precautions needed when working near energized power lines. It is unfortunate that some have to learn the hard way.

Cheers
A kin of mine recently told me that in Gastown and around Hastings & Main, BC Hydro asked the landlords of buildings that border the alleys there to put bars on the windows overlooking the alleys. In the alleys are many hydro transformers. What some residents do is soak a blanket in the tub and throw it out the alley window onto the transformers causing them to explode and put the area in darkness fer a few hours. Such fun!
Yikes! This guy is lucky to be alive...long recovery ahead.
Poor chap. Hope he will be okay.
His legs were on fire...... He will be off work for about 6 months.
