This is not directly related to power, but to the storm. Last night my phone, as well as several of my neighbours', was knocked out. No problem, I have a cellphone. So I tried to report my home phone was out of order.

Firstly, you can't dial "0". Then you call the phone repair service, and I spent just under eight minutes trying to get the electronic voices to understand my home phome needed reair before I was unceremoniously disconnected. By then my cellphone was getting short on available minutes, too.

So, I phoned my friend in Prince George and asked her to report my ailing phone. She went though over 15 minutes of nastiness, as it wasn't her phone she was reporting. The representative told her it would be next Monday, the 14th before they could do anything about it, and was quite sarcastic when she wasn't delighted by the level of service.

My phone, miraculously, is working, so I phoned Telus to find out why there was a big problem. The service representative I got was hardly into service either.

Turns out you can only report your phone yourself if it needs repair. Wouldn't tell me why they wouldn't accept my cellphone call, tho.

I'm supposed to go to another, working phone, and report it. Wouldn't tell me where or how, when the entire neighbourhood is knocked out. What if you don't have a car, can't drive, no bus, and, of course, without having a phone, can't call a taxi? No reply.

Is there something that can be done about this level of no-service? Common sense seems to have completely disappeared with that company.

That could be why alot of people nowadays dont even have land lines. The amount of service from telus is pathetic.
