Quesnel  -  A former Alberta resident now living in Quesnel has been released from custody and charges are expected into an incident early this morning at Bouchie Lake near Quesnel.

The incident began after a 43 year old neighbor went to visit the 30 year old new neighbor from Alberta at 11.20pm. Sunday night.  At the conclusion of the visit a shot was fired after the neighbor had been threatened with a rifle.

The area was secured and nearby home owners were advised to remain in their homes until the matter had been resolved. The emergency Response Team from Prince George was able to talk the man into leaving the home at 5.40am this morning.

He was apprehended without incident and a rifle was seized.  The suspect is not known to police.

No other firearms or people were involved. Police say the man in question does not present any further risk to the community at this time.

Must have told the guy to turn down his stereo or shut his dog up.
Why else would you visit your new neighbour at that time of night.
He was coming home from an early night shift at the mill, and saw the moving van. He didn't see the "Welcome Wagon" in the area, so he thought it was a good time to visit his new neighbour, and do the welcome himself.

Ah, who am I trying to kid? I think I'll go along with lostfaith's reason. It sounds better than mine.

:-)
I'm thinking that this guy is not the most popular new neighbor in the area. I guess they solve these things differently in Alberta!
There are probably females involved.
