*****The mother of  10 year old Shayanne Dawn Carto says her daughter has been located in Victoria.********

Comox Valley RCMP received a complaint from the mother of a 10 year old girl at 03:19 hrs today. 

She stated her husband, Jason Anthony Yank  (35 yrs) left their residence at 3:00 pm yesterday with her 10 year old daughter, Shyanne Dawn Carto, advising he would be returning before dinner July 7th, 2008. 

No further contact has been made and the mother has expressed concern for her daughter. Follow up investigation indicated concerns for the safety of the child.  Yank apparently has made comments suggesting the possibility of suicide and departed with camping gear. 

Enquiries have been made to relatives without developing information on Yank's whereabouts.

Further enquiries are being conducted in an effort to locate Jason Yank and Shyanne Carto. 

Shyanne Dawn Carto ( in top photo at right)  is described as 10 yrs, 4'10", 75 lbs, with a darker complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, wearing jeans and a bright pink shirt. 

Jason Anthony Yank is described as 32 yrs, 5'9", 200 lbs, with a pale complexion, short dark brown hair with lots of streaks in the front, with a scruffy complexion. 

Yank was last seen driving a white 1997 Dodge Caravan with the BC Licence 352 AMS.

Anyone with any information to the whereabouts of Jason Yank and Shyanne Carto are asked to contact the police immediately.
