Prince George, B.C. - The online public survey to provide feedback into the preliminary recommendations for the Prince George Dangerous Goods Route Study has been extended until

Sunday, July 13th.

The first round of public input  resulted in 250 responses, the second survey, launched  in June has only  sparked 73 responses.

The survey remains on the City's website (www.city.pg.bc.ca) along with the complete route maps and council presentation notes. Those residents unable to access a computer may provide their feedback at the Front Desk of City Hall.

The study was initiated in January of this year to:

  1. review the current movement of dangerous goods through and within Prince George;
  2. identify existing and future routes for dangerous goods movement; and
  3. develop the policies and bylaws necessary to regulate dangerous goods movement.

The survey results will be used in the finalization of the Dangerous Goods Route Study, and the development of the supporting policies and bylaws. The project is expected to be completed over summer.

So the dangerous good route is being determined by survey ? Instead of spending the money on the consultant I could have sold the city a survey monkey web site.
