Prince George, B.C.- Four people have been taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries, following a crash on Highway 16 at the turnoff to Upper Fraser Road.

RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says the crash occurred around 11:25 this morning when a west bound pick up truck crossed the centre line, colliding with an east bound SUV.

Although the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Corporal Douglass says alcohol was not a factor.

The highway was closed for a time as emergency services attended to the injured and as tow trucks removed the vehicles from the highway.

Highway 16 has since been reopened.

Texting?

No not texting. Very well known, well respected older couple driving home to Penny.

“driving home to Penny”

In the SUV correct?

The west bound pickup crossed the centerline for some reason. Could have been texting. Could’ve been a lot of reasons.

Based on the shadows, the photo is taken lookiing east.

Thus, if the vehicles are still sitting where they ended up post crash, the SUV did a net 180 degree rotation from its eastbound direction.

With the truck to the east of it, the SUV must have still had a forward momentum after it rotated.

The question is why did the truck cross the centre line? Mechanical or human error? If the latter, speed, inattention, sleep, stroke, etc. Road surface seems to have been in good condition.

Why don’t
you guys just wait tell the investagation is complete rather then jumping to conclusions and throwing out there all this spectulation!!

That would counteract the whole purpose of this blog!!!!.

The idea is to write a story and then see how many different opinions people have. That is why the name includes the word “OPINION” …

Keep with the program, eh?!

Crossing the centre line. Two vehicles approaching with a closing speed of maybe 120 miles per hour with only a six foot separation.Think about it.
