Library Renos Get Underway

Thursday, January 5, 2012 @ 3:56 AM
Prince George, B.C.- The first phase of renovations at the Prince George Library, Bob Harkins Branch, is underway.

The adult information desk has been dismantled and a new smaller desk is in place. New shelves will be put together this week and set up in the spot where the information desk and public internet stations used to be. The location will be a better spot to display the library’s paperback collection.

This work is just a warm up for the second phase of renovations.  That phase will see the development of “Skylab” the elevated mezzanine over the adult floor, adding nearly 1,000 square feet of new space.

The Library will soon be announcing the construction timetable for Skylab and the name of the contractor which has been selected to build the new floor.

Oh my God we are going to have improvemnts made to our library. How did they manage that.

Its time they started to improve some of the facilities within our City and forgot about heating their butts at City hall.
Cheers

Why renovate? Build a new one like they are doing to replace the RCMP building. Why would you want to do renos when you can just ignore any problems a building has and you can just rely on taxpayers to foot the bill for a new building.
