Fireworks kick-off celebrations at The Exploration Place

Prince George, BC – The overcast sky provided the perfect backdrop for a colourful fireworks display, as part of The Exploration Place’s gala fundraiser celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year.

The Chinese calendar has been in continuous use for centuries, predating the international calendar, which goes back just over 400-years. 2012 marks Year of the Dragon – dragons signify good fortune and power.

Gung Hay Fat Choy is a New Year’s greeting meant to wish others good fortune and prosperity.  The Exploration Place is hoping it bodes well for their efforts to raise funds to support programming at the local museum.
