That trade is kinda a headscratcher IMO….
Can’t really see the upside right now…

The ying and the yang to the trade that got them Naslaund. IMO Cody is the rookie of the year and they traded for at best a fourth line goon? Maybe they did it to get Cody more ice time?

Vancouver has lots of scoring and no toughness. I think this trade makes a lot of sense. The only thing that would have maybe made a bit more sense would be if they had traded Raymond instead, but they wouldn’t have gotten the players they needed for him. Plus they are deep in the center position. Who else could they have traded to get a young good skating talented tough guy? Even though Hodgsen acted like he didn’t know it was coming, I wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t discussed before because he wanted more ice time and he wasn’t going to get it on Vancouver unless one of the other centermen left. And Henrik and Kessler aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

GOOD-he was useless anyway. Big talk for very little results.
