Police Bust Home Invasion in Progress

Friday, March 30, 2012 @ 1:19 PM

Prince George, B.C.-  One person was sent to hospital,  4 arrested  in  connection with a home invasion and assault  that took place last night in Prince George.

RCMP say  they "inadvertently" learned of a potential home invasion in the 2000 Block of Tamarack Street in Prince George just before  9 last night.

A verbal neighbor dispute between the upstairs tenants and the downstairs tenants at the location, had turned into a home invasion and an assault.

Police arrived  at the residence and interrupted the home invasion and assault from continuing. Numerous suspects tried to flee the scene on foot or by vehicles but were stopped or located a short time later by members of the Prince George RCMP Crime Reduction Team or General Duty Section.

A 44 year old male from Prince George was found at the scene with head injuries. He was transported by the BC Ambulance Service to the University Hospital of Northern BC with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

Two adult males were stopped and arrested by the Crime Reduction Team while trying to flee the scene in a vehicle. Drugs and weapons were located and seized by police following a search of the vehicle. Two youth males were also arrested in relation to this incident.

A member of the Prince George RCMP Police Dog Section was dispatched to the scene to search for any other possible suspects.

The Prince George RCMP is still looking for one more male suspect. The male is known to police and is not believed to be a threat to the public, as this was a dispute between people known to each other.

Police anticipate charges will be laid once they have completed their investigation.
