Evan Bichon, a Northern B.C. Snowboard athlete has submitted the following note of thanks to all who offered him support over the past season:
THANKS to fellow athletes, coaches, family, teachers friends, individuals or organizations who cheered, helped, or sponsored me this year. With your encouragement, I had a great season!! Placing 1st in the BC Snowboard Provincial Finals, I was invited to compete for BC at the Canada Snowboard – Junior National Snowboard Cross (SBX) Champi-onship held in Nakiska Alberta. There, I had an amazing opportunity to further train and devel-op as an athlete with coach Bill Laing and other athletes across Canada. Definitely my season highlight was winning the Bronze med-al on the challenging SBX course to rank 3rd in the country in my category. It was such an awesome experience!!
Special Thanks!!: Powder King Mountain Resort – Jim and Hiedi Salsbury, Northern Edge Snowboard Club – Bill Laing, Tabor Mountain Resort/Tabor Anti Gravity Crew – Virginia O’Dine, Mitchell Thi-bault, Naoki Sato, SD57 High School Sports Coaches Corine Masich, Casey Tazelaar, teacher sponsor Janice Kozak, DP Todd High school, the Pacific Sport Northern BC crew for helping me develop my personal training rou-tine – Kristen Harrott and staff, strength and conditioning specialist – Robyn Ripley, and the rest of last season’s Ignite coaches. BC Snowboard Association and Canada Snow-board Association for having great competi-tions, Ruins Board Shop, Mackenzie Hose and Fitting, Kevin Nearing, Canadian Tire, Helene Rohn, Cindy Maisonneuve, Fran Guest, Tam-my Barker. Also, Little Mac Ski Hill, Hart High-land Ski Hill. Plus all my teammates and coaches from PGMFA and PGMLA, multi-sport is GREAT!!
And to Prince George – Canada Winter Games for inspiring me to continue to work hard on my personal goal of qualifying to compete for Team BC and Northern BC in 2015.
