Shane Lake Gets New Dock

Saturday, May 26, 2012 @ 6:31 AM
Prince George, B.C. The Prince George Polar Coachman Fly Fishing Club is unveiling a new dock on the west side of Shane Lake in Forests For The World on Sunday at 11am.

Tourism Prince George and the Freshwater Fisheries Society will be on site with fishing rods at 10am, and there will be a release of catchable rainbow trout at noon.

The original dock on the northeast side of the lake is still in place but is positioned in shallow water. The new fishing platform is situated midway along the west shore and provides easy access to the deeper water and better fishing.

The purpose of the project is to increase the fishing opportunities around Prince George and to enhance the outdoor fishing experience for visitors and families, especially children. Everyone is invited to try out the new platform.

Local residents and visitors can rent fishing rods and tackle boxes free of charge seven days a week at the Visitor Centre on First Avenue. Area maps and fishing guides are also available.
