Beaverly Residents To Share Concerns About Brake Check

Wednesday, June 13, 2012 @ 10:44 AM

Prince George, BC – Beaverly residents concerned about the location of a truck brake check along Highway 16, west of Prince Geoge, will have an opportunity to express their concerns at a public meeting this evening.

In late April, the Beaverly Community Association and Beaverly Volunteer Fire Rescue Department went public with their safety concerns surrounding the site of the new mandatory brake check, which sits just before the entrance to the fire hall. (click here for previous story)

The residents had been hopeful a second look by Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure officials may convince the provincial government to re-locate the check further west, just past the Mud River Hill, but were told in April that site completion plans would be going ahead at the original location.

Ministry officials have agreed to this evening’s public meeting, which will give area residents the opportunity to voice their concerns.  It starts at 7pm at the Beaverly Volunteer Fire Hall.

If the MOT want a brake check there, cough up the the bucks to four lane from there to town. Instead of working on traffic flow, they want to jam things up. Real bright!
