Prince George, B.C. – Power has been knocked out to some B.C. Hydro customers in the vicinity of Princess Auto following a motor vehicle accident near 22nd and the bypass, near PGSS.
Hydro says about 370 customers were left without power. The area affected is north of Athlone Avenue, west of Abbott Crescent, east of Ospika and south of 20th Avenue.
Details surrounding the accident are unclear, although word from the scene is that one vehicle rear-ended another. The collision may also involve a police vehicle, but police are not confirming that at this time.
Police are unavailable for comment as they investigate the accident. BC Hydro estimates that power will be restored by about 10:30 this morning.

Give it a rest, guy. There were plenty of crashes before cell phones.
There may have been plenty of crashes before cell phones…
But there are a HECK of a lot more of them now because OF them.
If the story is correct and one of the vehicles was a police vehicle,I am curious if it is stationed at the special police facility on 22nd ave.Last weekend, later in the evening I witnessed two unmarked vehicles leave this facility and turn on to Ospika Blvd. They left me behind in there dust as they sped away with no lights or sirens on.I think all these people that work out of that place think there a bunch of cowboys back in the wild west.
Cell phone while driving is the new impaired driving and should be treated as such. The proof is there now the laws just have to be changed. So can’t rest until then.
When we drove by it was good to see PG #1 crime fighter on scene. Not only can the citizens rest easy but it sure makes things easier for the RCMP !
