Who Deserves a Good Neighbour Certificate?

Prince George, B.C. – Who in your neighbourhood deserves to be recognized for what they do for the city? The City of Prince George wants to know.
EnhancePG, with the backing of the Mayor and Council, is providing residents an opportunity to recognize individuals and groups who make a positive difference in the community. It could be a small gesture or a large-scale action, anything from improving the safety of a neighborhood to enhancing its beauty. Those people or groups can then be given a Good Neighbour Certificate of Appreciation, signed by Mayor Shari Green and the chair of EnhancePG.
All you do is fill out a form indicating why someone deserves such recognition and return it to City Hall. The forms are available at the hall or at www.princegeorge.ca<http://www.princegeorge.ca
A personalized certificate will be sent to you to give to your deserving neighbor.

I think this is a great idea in terms of social capital. Good move!
I do to. It recognizes the efforts of others to make our community a better place to live and it also challenges others.

That is what it actually says on the web page as the very beginning.
I can’t help but notice that the word “culture” or any of its derivatives is not to be seen in the report.
Then I try to find the form ….. hello… form?
No immediate sign of a form.
SO it tell me that more info is available under “terms of reference” link, which takes me here …

That is the terms of reference for the Advisory Committee on Accessibility. So while accessibility certainly has something to do with enahncing PG, it is not the tersm of reference for “enhancepg, I think.
Another link on awards take me to communities in bloom stuff … so has that now been re-invented a enhancepg? …..

But I do not see any criteria on the form … would be helpful, at least I think so …. in fact, it is the form from last year ….. so this has been going on for longer?????
Where can I find last year’s award winners ?
I wish I could give the group in charge of this effort a good neighbour award …. but I just don’t think giving people the run around is being a good neighbour … sorry … :-(

So, contiuing on with the Baldy Hughes thing …. I went ot thier web site to see what is new …. lates nes release is from las year at this time announcing Brian Fehr’s appointment to the Board. Under the “in the news part” it is the same thing … July 2011 is the last one ….
So, it looks like they are spending the time dealing with the key part of their business rather than updating their web site or making news …..
Good for them!!!!
I think if that observation is true, perhaps I should nowminate them for being a good neighbour for doing that over the last year.

I “weed whacked” the tall grass in 2/3 of the ditches in front of and beside my house and raked it out. That happens to be city property. If that’s not being a good neighbour with civic pride, I don’t know what is. I sure hope they spell my name right on my award. I’m waiting…….
