Prince George, B.C.- The 2012 BC Men’s Baseball Championship opens this evening, with Kamloops taking on the Prince George Grays at 6:00 pm at Citizen field.

 

The weekend tournament has the top eight teams from B.C. taking part, with hopes of becoming the team that will represent B.C. at the 2013 Baseball Canada Championship.

 

The tournament features the defending champion Victoria Mavericks heading one of the two, four team pools. They’re joined by the Grays, the Burnaby Bulldogs and the Kamloops Sun Devils.

 

The second pool includes the Langley Blaze, Kelowna Jays, Nanaimo Coalminers and the Trail Orioles.

 

Games begin Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:00 and run into the evening. Playoffs will begin Sunday evening and continue Monday, with the final scheduled for Monday afternoon.
