Prince George, BC – Fifteen-year-old Izaak Andal does not remember a time when he hasn’t been involved with the Prince George Farmers’ Market…
His mom, Cynthia Andal, says that’s because she’s been toting him to the market since he was a baby. The Andals have been vendors at the market for 15-years, they came on-board in its second year.
This year, Izaak has taken over from his brother and is managing the family’s fresh-squeezed lemonade stand.

Cynthia says all their baking for the weekly market is done traditionally using a woodstove, as the family does not have electricity at their remote home in Isle Pierre.
She says this summer’s warm weather has been wonderful for business. "We usually can count on a few weekends of lemonade that are good, but this year, it’s been almost every weekend – it’s just fantastic."
Andal says she’s really enjoyed watching the market grow and change over the past 15-years, with more vendors selling their wares and people becoming more interested in organics and having fresh, local produce for a longer season.
"It’s nice to see it evolving," she adds. "There are more customers and it feels like it’s really a part of Prince George now."
