Electoral Boundary Public Hearings Set

Prince George, B.C.- The details on the public hearings on the proposed changes to the Federal electoral boundaries have been released.
There will be a hearing in Prince George on September 17th at 2 p.m. at the Coast Inn of the North.
The Prince George Peace River riding is proposed to expand to an area south and east of Valemount to the Alberta border.
Those wishing to make a representation at a hearing are asked to send the commission written notice no later than August 30, 2012. The commission is also accepting written comments until October 18, 2012.
To make a representation, send notice to the commission by e-mail at bc-cb@rfed-rcf.ca or by mail (1095 West Pender Street, Suite 301, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6E 2M6). Hearings may be cancelled if no notice of representation is received.

Democracy in Canada is a farce. No representation of any meaning for rural Canada… no senate that balances regional interests like in the US. Majority rules with the majority living in one small corner of the country is not a democracy.
