PG Axemen Trounce Nova Scotia 10-0
Defending champs, Windsor Stars, plays Alberta’s Fort Saskatchewan A’s in a game underway at Rotary Field at Baseball Canada’s Senior Men’s Championship
Prince George, BC – The Prince George Axemen blanked Nova Scotia 10-0 at Citizen Field to finish the round robin at the 2012 Canadian Senior Men’s Baseball Championships with a 2-and-1 record.
RBI singles by Scott Webster and Brad Ferraro in the first inning was followed up by an RBI double by Brandon Hunter in the second provided the early offense that had the Axeman up by five runs through the first three innings.
Hunter had a total of three runs batted in on four hits for Prince George, while Leon Boyd kept Nova Scotia off the scoreboard for five innings, pitching a shutout.
The team is awaiting the results of the ongoing game between Alberta and Ontario which is underway at nearby Rotary Field to see when they play next.
