Decision in Manslaughter Trial Due

Tuesday, September 25, 2012 @ 3:59 AM
Prince George, B.C.- B.C. Supreme Court Justice Glen Parrett will deliver his decision in the manslaughter trial of Patrick Mathewsie later this morning.

Mathewsie is accused of killing Sylvain Victor Roy in July of 2010 in an empty  lot  in Prince George.

Last week, during closing arguments, Justice Parrett said the Crown should look at whether charges of causing an indignity to a dead body should be laid against the Prince George RCMP.

Justice Parrett said he was shocked and astounded that the body of Roy was left in a field overnight in the heat of July  when there was no sign that any forensic steps   had been taken the following day other than the video taping of the scene.

Comments

I wonder if Mathewsie will get a rap on the knuckles or just let off scott free as all murders are in Canada. BC is notorious for freeing murders to recommit. Murder is not a crime in BC. Or at least there is no justice in BC. Parent is one of the worst at letting these creeps walk.

Justice Parrett should look at the weather data for the date before making a blanket statement “left in a field overnight in the heat of July”
