34 Year Old Man In Court In Connection With Home Invasion

Prince George- A 34 year old man, Dohn William Schmidt is set to appear in court this morning to face nine charges in connection with a home invasion August 24th on south Ogilvie St.
Schmidt is charged with break and enter, unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, unlawful storage of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, knowingly in possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a weapon while prohibited, theft over $5,000.00 dollars, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00.
The charges stem from the home invasion in which a 62 year old woman was violently held for about ten minutes after two men had broken into her home while she was asleep.
A large TV and a large gun safe containing three hand guns were taken from the home. The handguns were a Glock 9mm, a Springfield 45 calibre and a Springfield 9mm.
The suspects then fled the scene in the victim’s car which was later located on Faulkner Crescent in Prince George.
Schmidt was arrested on September 20th in possession of the Glock handgun.

A little harsh aren’t we ? The guy is 34 years old and just lost control for 10 minutes of his life. He just needs some strict probation order not to possess any firearms and a requirement to shovel snow for the elderly this winter.

Boon, don’t forget that he should say “Sorry”….. nevermind, I’m with He spoke on this. I can’t imagine what that poor woman went through. Her home will never feel safe for her again. Wouldn’t be surprised if she kept a Glock under her pillow instead of in the safe from now on.

And, why were they stealing guns anyway? Maybe he was a gun collector. Ha. That’s a laugh.
