Two Busted, One Sought In Pickup Truck Theft Spree

Wednesday, October 31, 2012 @ 4:43 PM
Prince George, BC – A police officer heading to a report of a stolen pick-up ended up solving three vehicle thefts on the weekend.
At about 2.00am Saturday, thieves stole a Ford F-350 from a parking lot on Central Street. Police looked for that vehicle but were unsuccessful.
Some eight hours later, police received a report of a theft of another Ford F-350, this time from a compound on Continental Way in the BCR. That theft, RCMP believe, took place at about 7.00am.
Through investigation police were able to identify two suspects, Jonathan Kyle Relkey, 22 and Chad Patrick Poitras, 27 both of Prince George.
The following day a police officer heading out highway 16 towards Isle Pierre to investigate yet another stolen Ford Truck saw a Brown coloured Ford truck followed by a white truck, which he believed was the one stolen from Isle Pierre.
The white truck was located on Bear Road heading towards the city. When the driver in the reported stolen truck saw the lights flashing he took off passing unsafely and eventually running the red light at Westgate Boulevard. Within a few seconds the driver of the stolen vehicle lost control on Marleau Rd and slid into the ditch with the police vehicle sliding in behind him. No one was hurt.
Two people were arrested, the driver Jonathan Relkey, and a female Ashley Susan Sampson. Police recovered 2 gas heaters, 2 exhaust pipes for a semi, 1 water pump, a hydraulic jack, and 1 heat booster. These items were believed stolen from the same rural property that the truck came from.
Both Relkey and Sampson face charges of possession over $5,000. Rekley also faces an outstanding warrant for the other truck theft from the day before.
Police are continuing to look for Chad Patrick Poitras in relation to these two thefts.
He is described as a Caucasian male, 178cm, (5-8) 82 kg ( 180lbs), short brown hair, brown eyes with a tattoo of a scorpion on his neck and a scar on the left side of his mouth.

Nice job RCMP! Thanks. Now I hope the Courts hand out suitable punishment to the bad guys.

I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

Around next April (when they appear in court) just remember I said “One day in jail and eighteen months probation”. You heard it here first.

Harb, you pipe dream’in again? Maybe 6 and send the probation officer on stress leave,LOL……

I think the RCMP did a great job. I hope the judicial system had some cahonnes, and could nail these guys in for two years less a day.

Next time its in the big house down south, two years, no chance for parole.

Third time, five years.

On the flip side, the system is called a correctional centre, not a gaol. What are they doing to bring them back into society as a functional participant in the tax paying regime. Do they get enrolled in a integration system where they can survive outside.

He Spoke……it is past the third time on these guys ! Google them ! They are going to kill some innocent person one day ! They are good for nothing and need to be sent away for a long long time, but that won’t happen ! Ford trucks, Dodge trucks, ATVs, motorcycles, they have stolen them all and been accountable for very little ! Time to publish their pictures in living colour so everyone knows what they look like when they come knocking at your door or skulking around your property.

Maybe we can get the government to declare open season on people like this.

I thought the courts were supposed to operate independantly from the government. If so, why is it that these types of people are being given such lenient sentences? And what is being done to limit their illegal activities before they go to court?
I still say they should be sent to an isolated island well off B.C.s coast somewhere. Give them just(ice) enough to get by on and let them have at it!

Their families must be so proud of them, these thieving scum.
metalman.
