Chetwynd, B.C. – North District Major Crime Unit and Chetwynd RCMP are  investigating two suspicious deaths in the Moberly Lake area.

About 9:40 this morning, Chetwynd RCMP responded to a call that two people had been found dead in a  home in the Moberly Lake area. After confirming the information, RCMP secured the residence as a crime scene.

Chetwynd RCMP, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and the BC Coroner’s Service are on scene at this time. The North District Major Crime Unit is en route to the area to help with this investigation.

"We are in the very early stages of this investigation and investigators are working to find out what happened inside the residence" says Cst. Lesley Smith, North District Media Relations Officer.  However she adds that public safety is not at risk.

The names of the two deceased are not being released  until next of kin have been notified, a process which is currently underway.
