Twitter Town Hall Session Tonight
Wednesday, December 5, 2012 @ 3:54 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training, Pat Bell, will be holding a Twitter Town Hall session this evening to talk about skills training in B.C.
The question for the #Skills4BC chat is simple – how do we take the ideas and themes that are being recommended and make them actions? For example, what needs to be done to:
* Rethink trades and technical education in B.C.’s elementary and high schools.
* Work with employers to encourage more investments in workplace training, recognizing the pressures businesses face-especially small businesses.
* Create paths for people to transition into trades or technical careers, no matter their age or background.
The Twitter town Hall session is scheduled for 7-8 tonight using the hashtag #skills4BC
It is being held in conjunction with the Premier’s online discussion (at www.bcjobsplan.ca) which calls on B.C. residents to help address the five key challenges to building B.C’s workforce.

I suspect that this twitter town hall session will be a **bust**
Most of what he is talking about has been done in the past, is presently being done, or is the responsibility of **business** to get it done through apprenticeships, training, etc;.
Time for business to step up and train thier employees, and keep them for the long term.
Seems when the Government and Business have a need for trained employee’s they then attach some importance to individuals and employee’s, however as soon as that need is gone, they kick them to the curb.
How many taxpayers over 40 years old “twitter”? I never see any seniors texting while walking through the mall. Do you?
Harbinger. Never see any. The use of twitter is nothing more than the latest in a series of computer generated games. Like the Hula Hoop, the interest will eventually drop off and it will go the way of the Doo Doo Bird.

Twitter may go, but only because an improved method of keeping in touch with the electronically connected community (such as opinion 250) will follow.
Hula hoops came on the scene at about the same time as skateboards, in the late 1950s. Both are still around, one being more popular than the other.
IC-Q is still around as well (came on the market in 1996) … one modern variant is twitter.

Remember cathode ray tube TV’s?
TVs are still around, but cathode ray tubes are diminishig rapidly.
Remember the paper version of Newsweek? ;-)
