So, who has this real bad cold going around town?

Oh yeah, hohoho, merry christmas.

In a week that has seen the “Pickton Report on Police Incompetence” released and uniformly disregarded as another whitewash by the judiciary…The release from prison in Quebec, a guy who confessed to killing his 4 kids, because he is “all better now”…and the handing of a 3 year sentence to the son of an Vancouver Island ex-council member who was found guilty of manslaughter. This after killing his neighbour.

I would say the media is NOT the problem in ensuring the most violent members of our society are kept locked-up. I would suggest the judiciary should quit looking for reasons to exclude the public from scrutinizing some of their egregious rulings and refocus on protecting citizens from criminals.

Media blackouts are for IRAN and SAUDI ARABIA. There is NO justification for it NONE. If I can sit in the gallery, I should be able to read and see it on the news. Any BS about “perverting the course of justice” is just that. The course of justice has been, and will always be able to be perverted.

If a media outlet slanders a perp? Let them sue the outlet. Legal aid is in shambles and the perp probably needs financial help, anyways. If the jury pool is contaminated? Re-locate to friggin’ Newfoundland if you have to.

It is time for progressive judges to quit pushing their personal interpretation on the constitution and the expense of transparency and public safety.

Can’t believe the number of drivers that don’t drive with their headlights on when it’s snowing and blowing and visibilty is the s#its.

The following link is to a credit market summary data table (as of Sept. 30, 2012) on Statistic Canada’s web site.

http://www5.statcan.gc.ca/cansim/pick-choisir?lang=eng&p2=33&id=3780122

The total debt outstanding in Canada was 5.17 Trillion $ (bottom line of the data table). From Jan. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2012 (a period of 274 days) the total debt outstanding increased by 194 Billion $. Over that 274 day period it increased at a rate of 708 Million $ per day.

With a total credit market debt of 5.17 Trillion $ and a gdp of 1.75 Trillion $ Canada’s total credit market debt is approximately 2.95 times the size of our gdp.

The United States total credit market debt is 3.5 times the size of its gdp, which is not too far off our 2.95 times. The following link from the St. Louis Fed shows the ratio of the United States total credit market debt to its gdp over the last several decades:

http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?g=359

The following link from the St. Louis Fed plots the United States total credit market debt and its gdp over the last several decades on the same graph:

http://research.stlouisfed.org/fredgraph.png?g=bIb

This huge build up of debt in Canada, the United States and the rest of the developed world has been going on for several decades. The situation with our debt sort of reminds me of the old story of what happens when you put a frog into a pot of water and turn on the heat real low.

One of these days our financial system which has had our total debt growing significantly faster than our gdp for a long time will hit the wall, the second great depression will begin, and the Canadian people (along with the citizens in the other so-called advanced economies of the world) will relearn the lesson the world was taught in the 1930’s depression, that being there are very severe and very painful consquences to having a society which lives way beyond its means for a long period of time. Generally speaking economic depressions are very bad news. However there is a silver lining to this depression which is coming up. When the masses suffer big time economic hardship, you can bet there will be a complete reset of our entire system.

Does anyone know what time the world is ending I have a visa i would like to max out

Because pending armageddon has been top of Mayan lately, I thought this was kind of funny…

“Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia.” – Charles M. Shulz

Are we dead yet ? Lol

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone

The world will come to an end at 8:00 pm; 8:30 in Newfoundland.

charles:

The USA has been in debt since its inception. They borrowed money from France to fight Britain in the war of independence. Been borrowing ever since.

I guess now I can start my Christmas shopping. The world didn’t end.

I was at the post office yesterday and decided there should be two lines… one to pick up packages and one to publicly shame all those people who waited until Dec. 20 to send out theirs.

Charles, how can ANY country, or ANY individual for that matter, ever physically “live beyond their means”?

To do that would mean things could actually be ‘consumed’ that haven’t yet been ‘produced’ ~ which is a physical impossibility.

There is no such thing as a ‘debt’ in nature. No one has ever yet been able to demonstrate that there is.

Now if the world’s financial systems are supposed to be a numerical REFLECTION of physical reality ~ for what else could they be if not that? ~ then surely it must be obvious that the ‘figures’, as presently constituted, are NOT reflecting the ‘facts’. Because physically, no one can “live beyond one’s means.”

Virtually all money, very close to 100% of it, comes into existence as DEBT. It begins its life cycle for the purpose, somehow, of enabling some form of ‘production’. Even so called Consumer credit.

It ends it’s life cycle when that ‘production’ moves through into final ‘consumption’, and the costs that went into it are recovered in price, and the bank loan that enabled those costs to be paid out as ‘money’ is repaid to the bank that created this ‘money’.

The system is CREDITARY, Charles ~ loans and the purchase of securities by the Banks create deposits, the repayment of loans and sale of those securities by the Banks ‘destroys’ those deposits.

That is the way it works, and is the way it has always worked, and, if it ISN’T working properly at present ~ and obviously it isn’t ~ then it is the ‘figures’ we need to look at as to how they are being arrived at, NOT TO TRY TO CHANGE THE ‘FACTS’ THEY’RE INCREASINGLY MIS-REPRESENTING.

And WHY can’t we do just THAT? Does the ‘black magic’ of a mere system of accounting terrify us so much that we dare not even question its correctness? God help us all if we’re that bloody stupid!

Excellent post, Styxxx. And I tend to agree.

Omg, as usual Charles zzzzzzzzzzz

With regard to the criticism of press coverage of trials, wasn’t the first of the recent incidents a report that turned out to be inaccurate regarding the setting of a trail date for Legebokoff? A false report of evidence against the accused could indeed make a fair trial difficult, but I don’t see how a false report about the trial date could have such an effect.

Soon the HST will be EXTNGUISHED along with ALL the Lie-beral campbell butt kissers who still cling to office by nothing more then a shoestring. Your time is almost done you LYING HST lovers. We the people will EXTERMINATE your party in may. Then I can go back to eating restaurant cheese burgers again and get as strachan says that slightly cheaper cup of coffee. It is what we voted for and I can not wait to see it come to pass. It is time to get rid of these LIE-berals and coming in may we will FINALLY get rid of them for ever. I am fed up paying HST for every single thing we do. Hope everyone will get out and vote this time around so that these LIE-berals get booted out of office for ever.
Goodbye snooki.

oh-look a jersey shore groupie forgot to take her meds.

“The United States total credit market debt is 3.5 times the size of its gdp, which is not too far off our 2.95 times”
Well it is 20%… ;)

Happy Friday everyone

Merry Christmas Prince George!

I, for one, am looking forward to Christmas break by taking in the delights of Otway Nordic Centre, Purden Ski, and the Ice Oval.

I can’t believe the statement by the NRA this morning. Un-freaking-believable. The NRA is calling on the US Congress to put armed officers in every school. Let’s fight guns with more guns. Great idea you NRA neanderthals! I would have a lot more respect for their organization if they had simply said that they didn’t have a response to the Newtown shootings or that they just didn’t know what to do in this case. Disgusting remarks and they should be ashamed of themselves.

JohnnyBelt, funny post. Love it!

Last night coming back from Powder king. I’m at the back of a 7 car line – because I pull over and let everyone pass me who catches up to me. We’re in blowing snow, dark, just approaching McLeod lake, barely enough visibility to see the vehicle in front – I’m keeping up to the flow of traffic, a pick up truck comes up behind me and just passes right into the blinding snow. Thank God no one was coming the other way, but where do people like this guy come from? Where was he going to get to? After he was around me, he still had six more to go. So, next time we read one of those pick up hits tractor trailer – no one sure why, maybe there’s more of this idiot out there than we realize.

And this is also the reason I pull over and let the cowboys pass me, if there is a moron like that coming the other way, they’ll get it before I do.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas everyone and try to stay safe out there. Just giving Visa a call for an extension on my credit card – world still here – go figure.

HAPPY DOOMS DAY, SEE YA ON THE NEXT DOOMS DAY.oh and happy holidayz

ski50, that scary. Glad nothing came of it but doesn’t it make you want to follow the guy and smack him around a bit. I don’t care if those people want to risk their own lives but when they start taking risks with mine, then I get angry.

Smart move, to pull over and let the morons go. I hope your next trip out is better.

That road in the winter scares me too much to drive in the dark so I ski at Purden or Tabor during the “dark” months and then I check out Powder King in the spring ski season.

If all the hippy skiers would stay off the road maybe I could get somewhere….

I keed, I keed – glad you made it home safe

Thanks bornandbread. Think I’ll take the bus next time. That way I’ll have physics on my side. Enjoy the slopes

Take the bus, safety in the herd.

Would be nice if the shopping malls would get rid of their snow piles.

Oh My….

http://alexgtsakumis.com/2012/12/21/got-milf-christy-clark-continually-degrades-women/

I see Obama and great one has appointed John Kerry as the new secretary of state, now that is scary.

Al Gore wasn’t available. :)

Just read that Alex Tsakumis article posted by Olddog… Oh My doesn’t begin to illustrate it.

Our Premier is a cracked piece of masonry. Seriously… and she wonders why she’s having problems getting women to vote for her?

She might thinks she’s being hip but all she did was make herself look foolish and unprofessional.

All you PG citizens get your debit and credit cards ready, or if you are a dino then get your hard earned cash ready. The following is my take on the commercial calendar for 2013.

Dec 26th – Jan 26th Boxing month sales

Jan 26th – Feb 14th Valentines sales

Mar – April Flogging of chocolate and stuffed toys for Easter.

May – Mother’s day promotions and sales

June – Father’s Day promotions and sales.

July – Canada Day. Big sales on all things Canadian.

Aug – Nov Run up to Christmas. First week in November Christmas music and displays appear in stores and Santa arrives at the Mall. Starting on Nov 1st a big effort will be made to be Politically Correct and try not to mention the word Christmas.

Nov. – Dec. Christmas sales including Black Friday and Blue Monday.

Furniture stores will multi sales throughout the year with having up to 8 birthday sales in one year.

Don’t forget “Boxing Day in July” sales.

Doesn’t a particular furniture & appliance chain have the biggest sales event of the year…. EVERY weekend?

You forgot Helloween

I can’t figure this one out. Christy Clark (Ms Liberal) spends 15 million dollars in advertising jobs, jobs, jobs and just how great B.C. is doing under the Liberal leadership. Yet Tanslink ships out 25m overseas to build new Sea Buses to save 2m in a 25m contract. Help me with this, that is 27m in wages and materials that will not be spent here in B.C. but given to out of country workers who will not spend a nickle in B.C. Just how does that save 2m? Surely the wages lost and spent in B.C. would cover the 2m in the economy. Hurry up election, had enough of the lies and BS by this Liberal government.

Oh yes…and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Ben and Elaine and all the 250 bloggers.

I read opinion 250 to get my local news and I read Alex G. Tsakumis rebel with a clause to get what is happening through out BC. I very much enjoy Alex’s blog as Mr. Tsakumis allows comments that he doesn’t nessesarily agree with but much more than that Alex does a lot of (heavy lifting) brings people and organizations to task much to his own peril. This is very much unlike Bruce Strakan who brings his own biases into the mix. To get into Alex’s web page I just google Alex G. Tsakumis. Try him you will be very impressed.

Out of curiosity… Anybody tried going to Pine Centre around four going up Massey today??? Speak of traffic jam. everyone heading to the mall. So was able to get to McD and turned onto Westwood.. Couldn’t get into outside lane so had to turn left back onto Massey. Did ok till got to where the buses stop outside of Sears. Traffic was lined up and people just turned around in middle of road to leave. Seen a truck go over the curb onto bus lane.. Thought that was a good idea so pushed my car over the curb and was able to FIND a parking spot. When i was done at Sears, I headed up Westwood towards CNC to get on hyway. No problem.. till got to the bridge.. traffic just inched along.(I was in inside lane) some nice guy stopped and let me squeeze into outside lane.. Eventually made it to the Junction and faster moving traffic towards CH.. This kinds reminds me of when we’re leaving Vancouver inching out way out to Coquitlam.

Most of the back up of traffic is because people dont know the difference between yield and merge. In addition the turn lane off Massey into Pine Centre requires drivers to wait for Northbound traffic., This backs up the traffic to the point that it blocks access to Masse from the traffic coming in from Highway 97. To make things worse all the idling traffic causes the ice to melt, and the road gets slippery and of course the traffic backs up some more. When I went through traffic was backed up the hill from Masse to Hiway 97.

Same thing happens at the new Cameron St., Bridge, traffic heading West along River Road has to stop at the lights, which means stopping on a hill, then when the light changes traffic has trouble getting going again. The business’s on River Road asked for a flashing orange so that they wouldnt have to stop on a hill, however the City said no. Then you have traffic going West on first avenue that wants to turn left onto Carney. If the traffic is at all busy they have to sit thier forever waiting for an opportunity to make a run for it.

Those people heading West on the pulp mill road have problems getting into the round about, especially if there is a lot of truck traffic. Sometimes the traffic is backed up for a mile.

Good transportation planning., Kudo’s to City Hall.

TV Programming….doesn’t it suck that you can have over 300 channels and cannot find anything worth watching? How many gold mining, dating, ice roads planes and trucks, pawn shop shows, storage locker Canadian pickers shows do the TV execs think we need?????

Commercials….drives me crazy when they roll the same commercial over over and over again….Ford, your one of the worst lately. As a consumer your not really attracting my goodwill.
