Prince George, BC – The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is promising fun, fun, fun for everyone with its annual Ski Fest – opening up the ski centre to everyone today with free trail passes and free ski lessons in a bid to encourage those new to cross-country skiing to check out the winter venue.

There are on-site equipment rentals in the lodge, and they’ll be rented out in three sessions today: 9am until 11am, 11:30am until 1:30pm, and 2pm to 4pm.  Visitors are then just asked to stop by the information table to pick up their free trail pass and sign a waiver.

There will be free 30-minute drop in ski lessons at 9:15am, 11:45am, and 2:15pm and guided tours on the beginner trails.

In addition, those interested in discovering the winter activity of snowshoeing are also invited out for a free drop-in lesson between 11:30am and 12pm.

There will be an outdoor hot dog roast between 11:30am and 2pm, with hot dogs on sale for $1.50 and a cup of hot chocolate for $1.00.

The club is hopeful city residents will take the opportunity to drive out to their location at 8141 Otway Road, saying it’s a ‘great opportunity to experience the wonder that is Caledonia Nordic.’

For more information, you can call the rental shop at 250-564-4809.
