Monday, January 21, 2013 @ 2:42 PM

Prince George, B.C.- Highway 97, near Honeymoon Creek, has been opened to single lane alternating traffic.

The highway was closed this morning after a og truck  rolled, spilling logs all over the highway  north of the  highway 39  junction.  The driver of the truck was not injured.  The cause of the roll  over has not been  released.

One more trucking crash, incident, accident … whatever….

I do not recall having this many highway closures …. or is it simply an increase in interest in reporting such things on 250? It does help travellers who read this blog.

More reporting is my guess. These stories get stale fast, and this site can get them out quickly.

This site is usually faster than the radio and newspaper.

Its a changing world.

There are always a lot of truck accidents most are never reported unless it involves death/highway blockage/spill or leak. When I lived in the Pine Pass it was not uncommon to have 2 big rigs a week during winter in the ditch/rolled over or load spilled.

This is nothing new but people want to believe any number of things so you get a lot of accidents in a short period involving rigs and usually the whiners come out of the woodwork

I travel this road a lot and am amazed that there aren’t more accidents. The “Big Rigs” travel waaaay to fast. On my last trip to Chetwynd, I was following a Chip Hauler who was almost hit head on by a fully load rig hauling a load of lumber. The Chip Truck Driver was halfway into the ditch in order to avoid the other driver that had crossed halfway into his lane. The trucks missed each other by only a foot or so, at around 100 kph. Kinda freaked me out at how close it was. I can only imagine how freaked out and pissed off the Chip Hauler must have been. These big rig drivers need to slow down and stay in their own lane!!

right at the front of the azu tun off the road from the south has slight down hill grade with a small window in which to pass a greyhound bus pulling a cargo trailer was attempting to pass a fully loaded b train the road conditions at the time were extremely slippery neither of those two fools were letting up on thethrottle when little ol me comes around the corner from the north i immediately got over as far as i dare and slowed down the goofball bus driver cut it back in swaying his trailer all over the place it was close reminded me why i dont ride the greydog
