Vanderhoof, BC – The RCMP’s Emergency Response Team in Prince George was called out to assist with a domestic situation in Vanderhoof late Sunday evening, but the incident was resolved peacefully early yesterday morning.

Vanderhoof General Duty Supervisor, Corporal Justin Thiessen says rumours of a hostage-taking a false.  He does say the local detachment elected to call on the ERT team for assistance in dealing with the situation.

"It certainly wasn’t a stand-off," says Corporal Thiessen. "Some situations just require some specialized expertise, and time, to resolve safely."

Corporal Thiessen says one person was taken into custody, without incident, and there were no injuries.
