UNBC Athletic Director Moving On

Thursday, March 7, 2013 @ 11:47 AM
Prince George, B.C. – UNBC is looking for a new Athletic Director.

Jason Kerswill is leaving his post at UNBC to take on the job as Manager of High Performance, co-ordinating Canada’s men’s national basketball teams.

Kerswill has been with UNBC since August of 2010, “ It really was a great opportunity to move a strong program into Canada West and I couldn’t be more proud of what we have accomplished as a program and as a community in only our first year of competition at that level. I’ve been playing basketball since I was 7 and all of my mentors have been associated with the national team at various times in their careers. Now it’s my turn, and I’m very grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime chance to work with so many passionate basketball leaders including Steve Nash, the General Manager of the national team.”

His last day at UNBC will be April 5.

The University will start searching for   a replacement within the week

Good for him. He’ll be able to breath some clean air.
Cheers

How could he possibly leave UNBC, and Prince George. I thought everyone and their dog, was trying to come to Prince George, not leave it.

You may recall the way UNBC forced the previous athletic director out in Oct 2009. That athletic director reported to UNBC Dean of enrollment who was replaced later too.

But the UNBC hired Dean of Enrollment management (hired in 2011) lasted until 2012 and she has left too. Since May 2012, there is an acting Dean of enrollment in UNBC and the position has been re-advertised.

It was a management mistake in UNBC to force the athletic director out in 2009 and UNBC may try reinstating him now as acting director, if he is still in town.

Anyone here fancy putting their name for UNBC Dean of enrollment, or athletic director …?

Rent, don’t buy…..
