Prince George, B.C. – The B.C. Coroner’s Service expects today to release the name of the person killed in a two-vehicle collision north of Quesnel last Friday.
The impact occurred on Highway 97 near Norn Road, just south of the 10 Mile Lake entrance, at 9:18am Friday. Southbound traffic on the highway was stopped and backed up for some distance while a tow truck attended to an unrelated incident. The driver of a southbound pick-up truck left the queue and pulled out into the northbound lane, where it was hit head-on by a northbound pick-up.
The passenger in the southbound truck died at the scene. The driver, plus the two people in the northbound pick-up, received treatment for non-life threatening injuries in Quesnel.
The weather at the time was less than ideal due to snowfall.

Weather conditions less than ideal, lets also remember the lack of patience and stupidity on the part of the driver that was in such a big hurry to get by the line-up of traffic.
So tragic that this had to cost someone’s life. I feel for all involved, including the at fault driver. What a horror to live with for the rest of your life.
Let the driver take some time to think about it in jail.
