Spruce Kings and Chiefs Meet Tonight at the Coliseum

Monday, March 18, 2013 @ 5:48 AM
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Spruce Kings are hoping to see the Coliseum filled to the rafters with supporters tonight as their BCHL Mainland Division semi-final against the Chilliwack Chiefs switches venues.

The best-of-five series is all square at a game apiece and now becomes a best-of-three. The teams battled twice at the Prospera Centre in Chilliwack over the weekend. Coltyn Hansen scored twice, and goalie Kirk Thompson stood on his head in stopping 43 of 44 Chilliwack shots as the Kings surprised the Chiefs 3-1 Friday night. Saturday was a totally different story as the Chiefs came out of the gate with a chippy, in-your-face brand of hockey and totally dominated the Kings in scoring a one-sided, 10-1 victory.

Games three and four go at the Coliseum tonight and Tuesday night, 7pm starts for both games.

The Chiefs finished nine points ahead of Prince George and went 6-2-0 and 0 against the Spruce Kings in the regular season. But the Kings won the final two games between the clubs, both in Chilliwack.
