Dawson Creek Man In Hospital Following Snow Machine Mishap

Mackenzie BC- A 24 year old Dawson Creek man is in hospital with a compression fracture of the vertebrae after the snow machine he was driving jumped off a 60 ft drop not realizing how far it was until it was too late.
Police say a GPS beacon was activated from a group of snowmobilers in need of help about 7 kilometers north of Powder King Ski resort.
A helicopter was dispatched to the area at 6pm. and the injured man was taken to Mackenzie hospital.
Police say the man landed on a snow covered rock following his jump and he was thrown from his machine . That impact caused serious injury to his back.
