Conservatives Would Pump Money into North

Friday, April 26, 2013 @ 9:12 AM

Prince George, B.C.- The B.C. Conservatives have announced  that if elected, they would pump $20 million dollars into Northern BC through “tourism, regional image branding, and economic development initiatives.”

"We have to do a better job making our case to British Columbians that the North is a great place to buy a home, build a career, study for a degree, and raise a family," said Nathan Giede, BC Conservative candidate for Prince George-Valemount. "This funding will help us market the North."

This $20 Million investment would be split between Northern BC Tourism and the Northern regions’ economic development initiatives.

The BC Conservatives had to dump another of their candidates.   Micha Popoff was removed as a candidate following inappropriate comments in a newspaper column about women and single mothers. Last night BC Conservatives released the following statement:

"Mr. Popoff’s various comments were insensitive and disrespectful, particularly to women and single mothers who are, in fact, heroes to their children and their communities in many cases. We are a party that believes in a respectful airing of views. Mr. Popoff’s statements were unacceptable and he has been removed as a candidate."

Popoff is the third BC Conservative candidate to be dropped   from the BC Conservatives. Jeff Sprague left because of a “personal incident”, then Ian Tootill was let go over comments on twitter, and now Popoff.

Makes you want to vote for this party. Haven’t got a clue to who they let stand so if elected wouldn’t have a clue how to run a Province. Seems as if they might be better than NDP because they had a chance and proved they didn’t. Vote but use you head vote Liberal

When I read this, I hear a toilet flushing.

isnt Nathan Giede studying for his degree in the Lower Mainland?

Find it hard to hard to believe what a candidate says if he or she doesnt believe it themself

Well jeebuzz, you’d think if this party wanted to succeed they would have dumped the leader last summer, built a good solid campaign and they might have had a fighting chance. I think they’re too far right, NDP too far left.
Thing is, Clark hasn’t been in too long but she seems to be doing a fair job of running the province. Not swayed yet, still listening and reading………
