Storm Causes Widespread Power Outages

Prince George, B.C. – B.C. Hydro crews are dealing with an outbreak of power outages which accompanied the arrival of a wild and windy storm that hit central and northern BC this morning.
 
Hydro reports six power outages in Prince George at the present time, with more reports coming in steadily. There are two outages in Quesnel. That covers the 8 in the central region, affecting more than 3-thousand customers. There are 27 outages in the northern region, including Vanderhoof, Terrace, Smithers, Houston, Fort St James, Burns Lake, Chetwynd and Dawson Creek.

 

Here in Prince George the outages affect these areas:

 

North of Kinney Road

 

West of Cranbrook Hill Road

 

East of Bench Drive, West of Otway and southwest of North Nechako Road.

 

North of Proppe, south of Patricia, west of Guay Road and east of Highway 16.

 

South of Leslie and east of Blackwater.

 

North of 18th, south of 15th, east of Lyon Street and west of Central.

Has hydro cut back on it’s crews that clear trees from the hydro right of ways??

Jrold, or maybe outages could have been more extensive.

I bet hydro planned this so they could send the power south…
