End of Line for Ratte

Thursday, May 9, 2013 @ 8:29 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Denis Ratte has run out of legal options.

The Supreme Court of Canada has dismissed his application to be granted leave to appeal his conviction for the  second degree murder of his wife, Wendy.
Wendy Ratte was 44 years old when she disappeared August 18th 1997. Her van was discovered in the parking lot of what was at the time, an Overwaitea grocery store on Spruce Street in Prince George. Her remains have not been found.

In November of 2010, following a trial that lasted four weeks, a jury in Prince George took just four hours to find Ratte guilty .

Ratte was then sentenced to life in prison, with no eligibility for parole for 15 years.

He had filed an appeal with the B.C. Court of Appeal, which was rejected  in August of last year. Ratte then filed with the Supreme Court of Canada for leave to appeal the case to the highest court in the country.

This morning, the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed his application.

Its good that the courts are not putting up with this crap these bastards are trying. One less creep on the local roads. Lots more to deal with.

That man deserves to rot in hell! His children were without a mother because of him. He helped them grieve her loss, all the while knowing that it was because of him that they hurt so badly. Then these kids lost their other parent because of his actions. They discovered that this man they called dad was not who they thought he was. These poor kids have to live their lives knowing this story, what a tragedy. I have no sympathy for him at all.
