Prince George, B.C. – "It’s been a crazy day so far and we haven’t even got into the weekend yet." The comment comes from Prince George Fire Rescue Chief John Lane.
Crews were dispatched to a single storey house with an adjoining carport on Chestnut Drive off the Hart Highway at 1:22 this afternoon after a van in the carport caught fire. The flames spread to the carport structure, which then collapsed on top of the van. Chief Lane says firefighters are still at the scene "pulling apart the mess to get at all the hot spots."
Nobody was reported hurt in that fire. There is no damage estimate and the cause of the incident has not been pinpointed at this time.
