Dawson Creek- RCMP have made an arrest in the serious assault that occurred on May 31st near the city.

Police say a serious assault took place in a field located near 17th St and 116th Ave and the dangerous goods route, sometime between midnight and 4.20 am. June 1st.

A 32 year old man from Grande Prairie was arrested on Wednesday in Farmington.

Police are asking Crown for a charge of sexual assault. He was remanded in custody until today.

The victim was treated and released from hospital .
