Prince George, B.C. – The woodstove exchange program is back.
Starting on Monday the 17th, people who turn in their old non efficient woodstoves for a new natural gas, pellet or EPA/CSA certified wood burning appliance, will receive a $500 rebate and qualify for the waiving of the heating unit permit fee from the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.
The Prince George Air roundtable is also offering some information on how to make the best of the new efficient wood burners. That information session is in home, and will see the home owner receiving a free moisture meter to test firewood for optimum moisture content.
Burning properly seasoned firewood not only improves the heat for a home, it also results in reduced emissions.
The exchange program runs until the end of October.
