Prince George, B.C.- The weather couldn’t have been better for the Annual fther’s Day Show and Shine in Prince George.

With more than 200 vehicles on display, this was the largest Show ‘n Shine in recent memory.
fine weather brought thousands of Prince George residents out to take a look at the vehicles that ranged from works in progress to works of art.

Earl James of Prince George has owned  the ’53 "Henry J" ( built by the Kaiser-Frazer Corp, in photo at right) for 46 years.  "My dad used to owned a second hand store in the Hart, it was called Mile 3 at the time.  One day he put up a  notice on the notice board  saying he was looking for a Henry J.  A fellow came in and said he would sell this one for $65 dollars.  I told him I had  $45  but he  said no.  A couple of days later he came back and said, ok,  he would take the $45.  I’ve had it ever since."   Earl says  in its original form, the Henry J  had a top speed of 60 miles an hour.  He has  since put a  higher powered motor under the hood and  the Henry J  can get along on the highway at a pretty good clip if needed.

We have prepared a photo album showcasing many of the vehicles, but because of its size, you will find yourself redirected to YouTube where the video has been posted.  Click on the photos posted here to  access the photo album.

Editors note:    Earlier version of this story  referred to "Henry  J" as a Ford model… we stand corrected..it was built by the Kaiser-Frazer Corporation and named after the company’s CEO Henry J Kaiser. Thanks to the 250 reader who pointed out the  error.

always a super event to look forward to!!!

Went. Lotsa cars. Took a lot of looks because tomorrow 99% of them will be back in the garage for another 51 weeks.

“Henry J Ford?” Hmmmmm? Obviously not a car buff. Think aluminum tin foil when you say Henry J.

Thanks for pointing out the error, I must have had a little too much sun today as I had “Henry Ford” on the brain.
We have corrected the story.
