Speech from Throne Marks Back to Work at Legislature

Victoria, B.C. – The  first session of the 40th Parliament of B.C. will start today with a speech from the throne.
 
Premier Christy Clark will not be on the floor of the Legislature as she has not yet been elected. That lies in the hands of voters in West Kelowna who will go to the polls on July 10th.
 
The Lieutenant Governor, Judith Guichon will arrive at the front steps of the Legislature at around 1:30 this afternoon. Following a 15 gun salute and Inspection of the guard of honour, she will enter the Legislature and deliver the Speech from the Throne at around 2:15.
