Big Brothers Big Sisters PG Assisted by Trio of Companies

Wednesday, June 26, 2013 @ 3:56 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Integris Credit Union and Save On Foods are helping the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George.

Together with Trimline Sign Crafters, they are providing two vans for the BBBSPG’s Community Shuttle program.

Here’s how it works:

Integris Credit Union has sponsored the vans for the agency.

These vans allow BBBSPG to transport transport kids for programs, to weekly skill development programs such as swimming lessons.  It also allows for pick-up for After School Care Program (a fee for service Social Enterprise that is helping support the free Mentoring Programs) and  will kick start the  “Community Shuttle Program”.  The Community Shuttle Program is a licensed fee for service program that will help generate monthly, sustainable funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

In addition to securing the vehicles , Integris also allows their employees time during their work week to mentor as part of the In-School Mentoring program.

Save on Foods’ involvement in the partnership is as a “Healthy Foods Sponsor”.  Each week Save-On provides fresh healthy snack items to children in the BBBS group programming.  This ensures that all children who attend group programming are getting healthy snacks and meals that are balanced and meet requirements of Canada’s Food Guide.

Trimline helped with the wrapping of vans and the body work needed on the vans to make sure they look as great as they do.  Trimline also offers ongoing support with agency branding requirements including signage for the Bowl for Kids Sake.

The three companies have also pledged more than $50 thousand dollars over the next three years to help Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the families who rely on BBBSPG.
