City Of Prince George Celebrates Name Of Royal Baby

Prince George- With congratulatory balloons that read "It’s a BOY" and a blow up replica of Mr PG floating in the background ,
Mayor Shari Green welcomes the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their son, George, making him "Prince George."
The city also produced a crib full of stuffed animals with a sign on the side which reads the city of Prince George welcomes the new Prince George of Cambridge.
Mayor Shari Green says, the city will be extending an invitation to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge inviting the family to visit the city during its 100th birthday in 2015.
To celebrate the birth of children in Prince George, the city has set up a crib and is encouraging donations of new toys for those families who are less fortunate.
The crib will be located in the main entrance of City Hall, along with a book where residents can pass along their well wishes.

That’s COOL….on a hot summer’s day. :)
i wonder if the new parking meters downtown are gonna cover the cost of the crib? lol
I wonder how Queen Shari will work this accomplishment into her reelection platform for the next city election. A major feather following her reign of terror.
Betting start paving now!
Even a good news story is tainted by idiot comments.
What makes this a good news story? It’s a name, get over yourself.
What aload of crap
we have a lot of issues to deal with for the tax paying people of the city of prince George other then this

trailer trash comments Randy 1955…LOL!
What a joke? Why is this news?
Because we are part of the Commonwealth of something or other, we live next to the USA which really sucks this up because they are no longer part of the Commonwealth (even though 4 US States are Commonwealths without royalty), and we like good news stories …. at least I think it is a good news story …..
I just wish that people would realize that both the little person and this city were named for British royalty.
The question is, how many people know whether both the little tyke and this geographic place were named after the same Prince George.
And then, to make it even more intriguing, which Prince George is Prince George’s County in Maryland named after.
You see, all these questions just because this little person was born in London England. Quite influential and he does not even know it yet.
;-)
Oh, I think I forgot to mention that the name of this place is Prince George, while the name of the tyke is just George, etc. The “Prince” part is actually a title, not a name …. LOL.
We could go on ad infinitum with trivia about this ……
Not everybody likes the name for the city…

Complete with comments from Ms. Green herself at the bottom… which is odd. She refuses to be interviewed. I wonder if she comments here under a pseudonym?
Seems to me not to many years ago Prince Phillip visited Prince George, and after he left he referred to the Prince George as being a city of loud, bearded, beer drinking loggers.
The City took exception to these comments and I believe wrote a letter of protest.
In any event lets not get carried away. We are about as far away from the real world, and royalty as you can get, unless you want to go to the Australian outback.
The Prince George we are actually named after has a rather rancid history and was certainly not someone to celebrate. I for one am happy to have this new prince overshadow the other in relation to our name.
So, perhaps we should rename our city Prince Phillip.
Unlike the Prince George we were named for, at least Prince Phillip experienced the city and made a good attempt at identifying its character.
Using the Prince’s suggestion, one could describe London as a city of obnoxious, narcistic, pierced, mainlining musicians.
;-)
it is just a kid who happened to be named George not his fault get over it
Who really gives a rats ###.What about the other thousands of kids born on the same day.
Hey, think about those thousands who were born on the same day and have died since they came into the world for a fleeting few minutes or hours.
Think about that for a little while and it makes the royal birth seem insignificant.
you though harry was wild, with a name like this he’ll be the monarchs first gangster
Wow, our mayor must be really lacking attention. The new Prince wasnt named after the city of prince George. In fact when Phillip was here a few yrs back, he went home and called PG a small grey lumber town.
Wow, PG will be on the map.
