Hazy Yes, But No AQ Advisory

Wednesday, July 31, 2013 @ 11:23 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Yes it is pretty hazy in Prince George today, but Ministry of Environment Meteorologist Dennis Fudge expects the situation will improve this afternoon.

“The levels we have for PM 10 are about 25 right now and the magic number ( to trigger an Air Quality Advisory ) is 50, but things should flush out this afternoon” says Fudge.

The source of the haze is dust and local industry says Fudge.

As the warm weather continues, he says we can expect a similar situation tomorrow, hazy to start, then clearing in the afternoon.

I love how “Dust” is always put first as a cause and then it’s also “local industry” (never assigning blame).

Dust doesn’t smell like it did this morning. And for “local industry” let’s just start calling it as it is: those damn pulp mills.

How about the refinery and the asphault plant cmdrjoe? Theres more in the air than just the pulpmills. Hence “local industry”.

Without the pulpmills Prince George would almost be a ghost town. By the way does anyone know the life expectancy of those pulpmills?

And with the pulpmills, many people living in PG will be ghosts before they needed to be. How ironic!

Cmdrjoe how do you know its the pulp mills.

Gee I didn’t say the mills did not cause pollution, must have typed something only you can see? So update me on their pollution?
