Surprise, Gas Price Dips Before Long Weekend

Thursday, August 1, 2013 @ 3:59 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Hard to believe, but we re heading into a long weekend, and the price at the pumps has dropped by a penny a litre.

Now at $1.369 at most gas stations in Prince George, ( Canadian Tire was offering it for $1.364)it’s hardly a major slip, but, according to the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ Gas Gouge Meter, it is still far above what a litre of gas SHOULD cost.

“With today’s crude oil price of $97.14 USD per barrel and the US dollar at $1.03 CAD, the price of regular unleaded gasoline in Prince George, British Columbia should be $1.18 per litre at normal profit margins” says the print out from the Gas Gouge Meter.

Meantime,   if you are heading out of Prince George this weekend, here are some of the current prices for a litre of regular:

Kamloops: $1.279 @ SuperSave,  Dallas Drive near Lafarge

Kelowna:   $1.329   @ Super Save Hwy 33 W near Mills Road

Abbottsford: $1.309 @ Costco

Terrace:     $1.379 @ Safeway

Ft. St. John : $1.369 @ Safeway

Today, the average price of a litre of gas in B.C. is $1.404. Last year at this time the average price of a litre of gas in this province was $1.296

Just the Canadian way of ripping off the consumer.
Compare the price of just about any product in the USA to Canada and see who is cheaper. A prime example is Canadian Club whiskey. $16.00 for 1.75 liters in Phoenix Costco.

Wow – I have to fuel up tonight and I just figured out that this will save me 43 cents over the next two weeks. lol
Lifes not fair, but its not fair for everyone… which makes life fair ;)

So the international oil companies are just going to have to get by making $40 Billion dollars profit next year instead of $50 Billion?

Boo Hoo, cry me a fricken river!!!

You folks are ignoring the carbon tax, why?

Even with the carbon tax, the price is still 10 cents a litre to high.

Welcome to good old Prince Gouge BC

Danville, Virginia, spotted at 7:22 this morning, the price for one US gallon of regular was US$2.91 ….

Much of the rest of the USA and Canada is getting hosed.

Gasoline price per litre in Esmeraldas, Ecuador is US$0.39 …….

everyone else is getting hosed ….. ;-)

“Welcome to good old Prince Gouge BC”
where gas is 4 cents below the provincial average ;)

Just wait till costco puts in the Pumps…

Just what that neighbourhood needs….more traffic.

If I could attach pictures, I’d attach one with the pic of the crying three year old.

So that oil profit is based on an operating budget of what. A good portion of the difference in fuel costs between Canada and the US are taxes. Happy carbon tax scam being one of them.
