St. John Hospital Renos Reach Halfway Mark

Vanderhoof, B.C. – Renovations to the St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof have reached the half way mark.
The $5 million dollars in renos are focused on the emergency department and will include a separate waiting room for families of patients in emergency care and a separate ambulance entrance.
Other plans for the renovation project include relocation of the hospital’s main entrance, improvements to the reception and admitting counter, resurfaced parking area, and installation of ventilation and cooling systems.
The renovations are expected to be completed in early 2014.
Originally built in 1971, the St. John Hospital has 24 acute care beds and provides emergency treatment, maternity services, diagnostic services such as x-ray and ultrasound, occupational therapy, an oncology clinic, and orthopaedic, specialty, and general surgeries.
