Prince George, B.C. – It really is quite amazing to walk out the door and be met, square in the eyeballs, by a rush of brilliant, invigorating colours that stop you dead in your tracks for the instant it takes to say, “well good morning to you too, world.”

One of the many great things about living in north-central BC is that we get to experience four distinct seasons complete with their weather and their colours.  And right at this time of year, in the fall, old Mother Nature tosses splashes of vibrant colours at you at nearly every turn.

Whether perched with a camera atop Connaught Hill with a view of the Yellowhead Bridge heading east, or looking across the Nechako River from the bank near the Spruce City Wildlife fish hatchery (above), it’s impossible not to treat yourself to a little eye candy of the natural variety and sit back and enjoy.

A couple of moms took advantage of the fall tapestry by loading up the kids and taking them to Cottonwood Island Park for some Halloween shots, complete with pumpkins. And just over the park’s bridge there were more brilliant examples of just what a colourful season it is.

Excellent invention, the camera. Almost as great as the eyeball.

Anyone know how many people showed up to the anti-monsanto march?

Was it supposed to go down Dogwood?

Remember, this is Thanksgiving, the time we give thanks for a plentiful harvest resulting from the GMO experiments.

As gus said “this is Thanksgiving”. Let’s be thankful for the beauty that surronds us.

Such beautiful photos. This is and always has been my favourite time of year. How the hell anyone can look at these photos, and the first thing that comes to mind is a Monsanto protest ? Sad

Hey PG, it looks like you overbought on yellow. You should take some back and grab some cinnamon, crimson, orange and red :)

I do agree though, fall is my favourite season as well!

Eskers Park is a really good park for walks and hikes in the fall this time of year. I would have to say its probably the best time of year for a photographer.
