Poppy Trays And Salvation Army Kettles Targets for Thieves

RCMP say that while the season of giving is now underway, it is also the season of “taking” as police receive complaints about poppy trays, or Salvation Army Kettles being stolen.
Last week, someone took a poppy tray, and it’s donations, from a downtown business.
RCMP are now passing along some tips for those businesses gracious enough to host a donation tray, and for the volunteers who host the kettles.
· Secure the donation container to a countertop;
· Have persons monitor the donation containers;
· Place them within the view of video surveillance cameras;
· Empty them frequently and secure the proceeds;
· Lock them up and out of site at night.

Oh the depths to which human depravity will descend!
Few years back I caught a guy at the 7/11 on 20th. When the clerk turned her back he did the snatch and grab. Caught him in the parking lot and the fight was on. Got the money back and got a few cheers. true low life.
Probably why “they” lock churches in this day and age, too.
Saw on a bumper sticker not long ago:
Kids that hunt, fish and camp don’t grow up to mug anyone.
Sometimes there just is too many security cameras.
