Remembrance Day Times Clarified

Prince George, B.C. – It would appear some clarification is needed regarding the starting time of the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Prince George.
Mixed messages sent out by City Hall and some media outlets resulted in some confusion among some people wanting to attend the ceremonies, so here is the official word on the timing of events on Monday from Sandy, the manager at the Legion.
Everyone attending the service at the Civic Centre is asked to be seated no later than 9:15 am, with the service beginning at 9:30. Following ceremonies there, at approximately 10:30 to 10:45 am, the parade march to the cenotaph at City Hall will take place to be followed by a ceremony including the laying of wreaths.
Work continues on the new 6th Avenue home of Branch 43 of the Royal Canadian Legion following its departure from its 7th Avenue location, so, following the cenotaph ceremony, the Connaught Youth Centre will be opened, to adults only, for a licensed Remembrance Day gathering there. Children and their families are invited back to the Civic Centre for hot dogs and hot chocolate.

Many Canadians served in the British Armed Forces, including those during the second Boer War when Canada still did not have its own army….
