Prince George, B.C- The Provincial Government is pumping $275 thousand dollars into sport programs to make the most of the Canada Winter Games in Prince George.
Minister for Community, Sport and Cultural Development, Coralee Oakes, made the announcement at the Otway Nordic Centre, the site of the biathlon events for the Winter Games.
The funds will be split, with $125 thousand for test events for the 2015 Games and the balance in funding for the Northern Sport Strategy which is designed to further develop sport in the north.
The funding is over and above the $11.12 million the Province is providing for the Games.

Aw, no picture of Coralee ? Bummer.
I think the video is missing in action.
The first thing they might want to do to assist the further development of WINTER sport in the north is to make sure that the two local hills have access to the Ski Canada fund which allows children in grades 4 and 5 to access ski lift tickets up to 3 times per facility for free (the cost is $30 to apply to get the pass).
At the moment only Powder King is part of that agreement.
Again, goes to show that the North often gets the short end of the stick even when it comes to snow.
Here is the list of the participants in BC:
